Last-Minute Donations:
Bring any last-minute donations to Day Zero Check-In on Thursday, Sept. 9 to the Delta Calgary South Hotel.
Each donation must have a completed donation form with your name on it . Speed up the check-in process by bringing them properly filled in.
Meal Plan:
For those who have not yet paid their meal plan please go to http://fundraising.kidney.ca/kidneymarchmealplan or be prepared to pay for your plan on Sept. 9 at Check-In which will make the check-in process lengthier for you.
On-Event Reminders
Opening Ceremonies
Friday, Sept. 10
Location: Millarville Race Track
- 7:00 – 7:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast served
- 7:15 a.m. – All participants should be on site at the Millarville Race Track no later than this time
- 7:30 a.m. – Stretching begins
- 7:45 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies
We will provide a light snack before we head out, however please ensure that you have a substantial breakfast that morning.
If you did not complete your Day Zero Check-In on Thursday, Sept. 9, you can check in at our designated Hotel, the Delta Calgary South at 6:00 am. on Sept. 10. You may have someone drop you off at the Milalrville Race Track no later than 7:15 am . Do not drive yourself – no pvernight parking is available.
Please arrive early and make sure you do not miss an inspirational start to your Kidney March.
Transportation to Millarville:
Buses for Marchers and Crew only will depart from our designated Hotel, the Delta Calgary South promptly at 6:30 a.m.
Gear Drop-Off:
Drop off your gear as soon as you arrive on Friday morning. Gear trucks will be located at the Delta Calgary South Hotel and at the Millarville Race Track.
Parking:
Parking is available at Millarvillle Race Track if people are dropping you off for the Opening Ceremonies. Encourage your friends and family to come along and be part of this inspirational beginning Vehicles cannot be left at the Race Track under any circumstances after the ceremonies so please do not drive yourself.
Free parking for the duration of the Kidney March, Sept. 10 – 12 is available for Marchers and Crew at our designated Hotel, the Delta Calgary South. However, due to limited parking we encourage participants to carpool or be dropped off/picked up.
Please email us at info@kidneymarch.ca by Sept. 1 if you will require overnight parking at the hotel.
Cell Phone Service:
You are encouraged to bring your cell phone, however, be warned that in this area, cell phone reception may be difficult, therefore you should not count on it. A pay phone will be available at camp and service is predicted to be more reliable at camp rather then en route each day. We will have appropriate services for the use of emergency personnel only en route.
We will provide you with a number for friends and family to leave urgent messages for you at camp headquarters closer to the March date.
Day Zero – Mandatory Pre-Kidney March Check –In

This is when you will receive your official Kidney March passport confirming that you have met all of the requirements to participate in the first ever Kidney March.
All Marchers and Crew are required to attend a mandatory safety orientation session at the hotel. Sessions are scheduled for:
- 1:00 pm
- 5:00 pm
- 7:00 pm
Please email info@kidney march.ca to confirm which safely orientation session you plan to attend.
The entire check-in should take approximately one hour.
Closing Ceremonies
Location: Canada Olympic Park
Ceremonies begin as the final Marchers arrive (approximately 3:00pm) at Canada Olympic Park. Be sure to tell your friends and family to arrive by 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, to cheer everyone in and share with you in your victory celebration. Free Parking.
Marchers and Crew who left their vehicle at the Delta Calgary South hotel will be transported back to the hotel following the closing ceremonies.
